What’s different about the festival this year is that many of the programmes have gone virtual. This includes interactive games as well as fun art and craft ideas with downloadable activity sheets to unleash your child’s creativity at home this 2020 December school holidays!
However, if your kids are up for a little outdoor time, you can head down to the National Gallery to participate in the Small Big Dreamers 2020 in person! Explore the interactive site, An Artist’s Tropical Landscape, which was inspired by Georgette Chen’s masterpiece, Tropical Fruits. Here, your curious ones will learn how the artist drew inspiration from her environment and use their five senses to see things from a different perspective. They will even get to participate in some augmented reality kinetic games too! Remember to bring along a pair of gloves for extra protection when your kids interact with the installations. 2. Hay Dairies Goat Farm
There’s no need to fly to New Zealand for your kids to experience farm life. Because we’ve got one in Singapore too! The Hay Dairies Goat Farm provides tons of free activities for kids this 2020 December school holidays. Plan your visit and arrive at 9am to witness the adorable goats line up for their milking session! Thereafter, go on a free and easy farm tour with your kids to observe the goats go about their daily lives. You can even purchase some Alfalfa Hay, which your little ones can feed to the goats! 3. Jurassic Mile
Tyrannosaurus Rex, Brachiosaurus and Spinosaurus — if your little ones are dinosaur fans, the Jurassic Mile will be one of the best free activities for kids this 2020 December school holidays! They’ll get to marvel at more than 20 life-sized dinosaurs with the tallest dinosaur coming up to almost five meters tall! 4. Doraemon’s Time Travelling Exhibition
This familiar blue creature has popped up on our sunny island! We’re talking about the witty cat robot, Doraemon! Presented by the National Museum of Singapore, the Doraemon’s Time Travelling Exhibition is a dream come true for fans of all ages. Peppered around the lawn of the museum, you’ll find 14 adorable Doraemon statues inspired from his various adventures. One of the most iconic statues has got to be the Anywhere Door which was featured in many episodes of the iconic cartoon. You can also head into the museum to see the rest of Doraemon’s futuristic gadgets like the Shrink Ray and the Come-Here-Cat. To make this a memorable experience for the 2020 December school holidays, we suggest ending the day by binge watching some Doraemon cartoons with your little one!

5. Ecolife Tours
Ecolife tours are specially organised to help both old and young Singaporeans get acquainted with the biodiversity in our environment. This free activity for kids and adults is held in two different locations — Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park as well as Coney Island Park. Your kids will get to see a wide variety of fauna and flora and cross paths with some which are critically endangered! 6. Wild Wild Wet
The best part about our tropical climate is that we get to swim all year round. This 2020 December school holidays, make a trip down to Wild Wild Wet for a splashing fun time with your kids! 7. Skyline Luge
Running out of holiday activities for kids? If you have not brought your kids to the Skyline Luge at Sentosa yet, the 2020 December school holidays will be a great time to do so! The Skyline Luge is a go-kart and toboggan ride rolled into one. Before that, why not add on a Skyride and let your kids enjoy Singapore’s scenic skyline before they race down the steep luge tracks!

8. Once Upon a Time on the Orient Express Exhibition
Are your kids huge fans of Thomas And Friends? Do they love riding the MRT? If it’s a yes and yes, you need to take your kids to the Once Upon a Time on the Orient Express exhibition this 2020 December school holidays! The Orient Express passenger train was known for its posh interiors and association with luxury travels back in the day. Parents may also find this train familiar as it was featured in novels like From Russia, With Love (featuring the fictional character, James Bond) and Murder On The Orient Express.
Your little rail buffs will be stoked to see the iconic long-distance passenger train first created in 1883 for themselves. 9. Sports Hub Multi-Activity Camp
